Glucophage

Metformin is an oral antibiotic drug from biguanide class. This is originally sold as Glucophage. This is used for diabetic type 2 (when people are not depending on insulin), overweighting (when it starts making harm to the health) etc and most important are, those people have to be problem free from kidney disease. This drug helps to reduce cholesterol.

Glucophage (Metformin) drug basically used for type 2 diabetic (when people are not in need of insulin). But it also used for polycystic ovary syndrome (female ovary glands disorder, this is very common), non alcoholic fatty liver disease etc. But here this drug needs some more experiment.

Glucophage reduces glucose in your body, which is made by your lever. It makes easier to glucose to go inside of your issues of your body. Glucophage found especially useful for those persons who are over weighted and have diabetics type 2.

Glucophage should not be prescribed before consulting with a doctor. You might have allergy on Glucophage, you may have problem in liver or kidney. So, you can’t just take it. And you should not stop taking medicine before consulting with your doctor.

If your doctor approved then it is recommended that adults should take Glucophage daily 3 to 4 times, 500mg. If you are taking Glucophage 850 mg, then you might take 2 or 3 times a day. One thing you should remember you can’t take more than 2550 mg daily. These tablets should be taken with food, whenever it possible to reduce the risk of vomiting and nausea. Glucophage can be use alone to reduce glucose or can be added with other drugs. And you should check your glucose lever at your blood in regular basis, to ensure that these drugs are working fine.

This is very important that you should take the Glucophage medicine regularly and timely. If you miss one dose then you should take it immediate and continue your regular schedule. And if you found that you are near at the next dose, then drop this dose and continue with your schedule. Glucophage is an oral antibiotic so you have to be careful about taking medicine. And most important part is, do not take double dose to make up your missing dose. And finally if you are not sure what to do about a missing dose, then please consult your doctor.
