ফুলের সৌরভ (The fragrance of the flower)

আমার অ্যালার্জি আছে, তবে ফুলের রেনু থেকে নয়। ছোট বেলায় আম্মা বলেছিলেন, খুব কাছ থেকে ফুলের গন্ধ শুকতে হয় না। কারন ফুলের মাঝে ছোট ছোট পোকা মাকর থাকলে সেটা নাকি নাকের ভিতর ঢুকে পড়ে। তাই এখনও ফুল পেলে ফুলটা হাতে নিয়ে একটু দুরত্ত রেখে পর্যবেক্ষন করি, তারপর খানিকটা দুরত্ত রেখে ঘ্রান বোঝার চেষ্টা করি।

একদিন এক কলিগ রাস্তা থেকে বেলি ফুলের মালা কিনে দিল (আসলে মায়ের জন্য কয়েকটা কিনেছিলেন, আমি গাড়িতে ছিলাম বলে আমাকেও ২টা দিয়েছিলেন)। পুরো গাড়ি সৌরভে ভরে গেল। আমি তো ফুল পেয়ে খুবই খুশি। আমাদের ড্রাইভার বললেন, ওরা ফুলে স্প্রে দেয়, তাই এতো গন্ধ। মনটা দমে গেল। তাও বললাম, দেখি যদি কালকেও ঘ্রাণ থাকে তো বুঝতে হবে আসলেই এটা প্রাকৃতিক ফুলের সৌরভ।

আমাকে হতাশ করে দিয়ে পরের দিন ফুলগুলো থেকে সৌরভ পুরোপুরি চলে গেল। ফুলের মালা দুটি এখনও ঘরে ঝুলানো আছে। বেলিফুলশুকিয়েগেলেও নষ্ট হয় না।

I have allergy, not with flowers. My mom said me in my childhood that we shouldn’t take flowers too close to our nose to smell its fragrance. There might be some tiny bugs in it which may get inside our body through our breath. Since then whenever I hold any flower I try to get its fragrance with s some distance.

One day one of my colleagues gave me two flower’s neckless (Jasmine) in our office car. Actually, he bought for his mother and as I was also in the car he gave me two of them. The fragrance of the flower covered inside car immediately. I became very pleased.

Then our driver said, these people spray fragrance on the flowers, that’s why it smells so strong. I said, OK, I will keep it at home and will see what happen next day. If all fragrance has gone, then I will be sure it was from the spray.

Finally, I found that the driver was right. Next day there was no fragrance of the flower. Anyway, I kept it for days, it became dry but look beautiful. See, that’s our file, fragrance goes so quickly but still the dry part left alone.
