Biography 167: Spending time in between classes.

 At the University of Dhaka, I found some of our classes are in the morning, some in the afternoon. The practical classes were in the afternoon. There must be a good reason behind it, which I didn't know. We couldn't go home after the morning class; we had to spend the rest of the day at the University for the next class.

Students living in the hall (dormitory) can quickly go to their room, use the washroom, take lunch, rest and then return to class. What will happen to those students who didn't get any room in the hall? Students who have a home in Dhaka city don't get a room in the hall. Our home isn't that close that I can think to go home and come back.

I was lucky that one of our close friends had a room in the ShamsunNahar hall. The closest hall to our department. So, we used to go to her room, spend the day together then return to class. Murshida Akhter, She was a lifesaver in those days.

লোডশেডিং, সিনেমা হলে? (Power cut, even inside the Cinema hall)

একদিন ছিলো পুরোপুরি লোডশেডিং য়ের দিন। কি কারনে যেন সাড়াদিন অফিসে কারেন্ট ছিলোনা, বস 2টার পর ছুটি দিয়ে দিলেন। কি করি, কি করি। সবাই মিলে সিনেপ্লক্সে গেলাম। ইংলিশ ছবি মনে করে একটা ইন্দোনেশিয়ান ছবি দেখতে বসলাম, কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে কারেন্ট চলে গেলো। সব বন্ধ। আবার নতুন করে সব চালু করতে অনেক সময় নিলো। 
ছবি দেখা শুরু করলাম, ভালোই ছিলো। 
এক পর্যায়ে ছবিতে নায়িকার বাসায় কারেন্ট চলে গেল। আমরা ভাবলাম, কি কুফা আমরা, যেখানে যাই সেখানেই কারেন্ট চলে যায়, এমন কি সিনেমাতেও!!

There was a day of a power cut. Let me explain, I don't know why once the whole day we didn't have electricity in the office. After 2 pm, our boss let us close the office. We started thinking, now what to do. Then we all planned and went to Cineplex to watch a movie. We cut the ticket for a movie as we thought it's an English movie, but later we found it's actually an Indonesian movie. After a few minutes again power failed inside the theatre. It took a long time to start the movie again. We watched the movie, it was good. Even inside the movie, they had shown a power cut. We thought what a situation, wherever we go, power will be cut off, even inside the movie!!
