Facebook always recommends friends' IDs to whom you can send friend requests. Earlier, whenever I found any known person, I sent them a friend request. Most of them accepted, some didn't accept, and some declined. I didn't mind. It's their choice. Just get to learn who looks friendly to me but doesn't want to accept my friend request.
With time, I have understood that I shouldn't disturb people. So, I let people stalk me without any disturbance. I only accept friend requests from the people I know and ignore those who irritate me.
