Everything can't be managed or ruled by the government. Everything can't be ruled by others, everything can't be managed by friends or someone else. Sometimes you have to take control of yourself. Take control of wherever things needed to be controlled.
Many of us are like sheep. If one goes in a path, the rest of us will follow. We are human, every person has a different way of thinking and understanding. It doesn't mean every person will walk in different directions. It means never let your guard down. Follow people, when you know, they are right. Blind trust isn't good for any, except dictators.
