Airplane seating arrangements

The most expensive form of public transportation is air travel. It is kind of a rich people's vehicle. People who are not wealthy often use this transport when there are no other options available, such as crossing an ocean or a long distance.

Airplane services vary significantly across different countries. The best airline services are provided by Middle Eastern airlines.

Canadian airline fares are very high, but the service is very low. It is lower than many third-world countries. I have travelled with Canadian Air and WestJet airlines. I found WestJet's service is better than Canadian Airlines. However, WestJet also needs to improve a lot. All airplanes need a deep clean. Nobody will feel good when they find food crumbs in different places after taking a seat. Window glasses should be very clean so travellers can have a nice view and take good pictures.

Except for the first-class area, all economy seats are designed for very zero figure/slim individuals. If you are a normal-sized person, there’s no chance you will sit in their seat without touching the person next to you. Everyone needs personal space, but you can't have it in economy class. The airline companies seem to follow a system similar to the Muslim salat practice in a mosque, where you stand shoulder to shoulder with others. In airlines, you have to sit like that.

If you are travelling with your group, it might be okay (though not for everyone), but when you are travelling with a stranger, this is very wrong.

To make more money, airlines shouldn't put people in that situation.

Airplane service

In Islam, this has been told that people should stand shoulder to shoulder in line when they say a prayer together. I assume to increase brotherhood and to decrease differences between everybody this system has been established.

Airplane authorities or builders liked it very much. The way they have put seats inside an airplane that you don't have any other choice but to sit shoulder to shoulder. I mean your shoulder will touch the other person's shoulder when you take a seat. If it is a family member then you will tolerate or enjoy it. But when this happens with strangers then I'm sure everybody won't like it. especially for women, it is very uncomfortable.

Here is the airplane policy, if you don't like this kind of journey, then pay extra and you will get a first-class seat.

In Canada, air tickets are already very high. And service is pretty low. If you travel to other countries with other airplanes you will see, with less money how high quality service has been maintained. Even if you travel through Bangladeshi internal flights, those give much better service than Canadian airplanes.

One option I like is Canadian airplane booking. You can choose which seat you want to sit from online. So, you can have a less expensive seat if you choose to sit near wings or take no food. But again, even the less expensive seat price is too high.

Biography 63: An airplane

Shafeen has made this toy

In Saudi Arabia, mostly I did is babysitting my youngest sister. I like kids. I always enjoy time with them. So, I enjoyed my time with my baby sister. She was with me like this for more than one year. Other than babysitting I also helped mom in swiping rooms, cleaning rice and lentils (Daal). On those days, we had to clean them before cooking.

My parents didn't buy me any toys. They did buy toys but didn't open the packet, they wanted to bring everything in Bangladesh intact. So, I took mom's empty perfume bottles, empty beautiful boxes or packets and turned them into toys. I had a small mirror too. But I didn't look at it much, as I was never a  conscious girl about beautification.

Before we finally returned to Bangladesh, one day my parents took me to a toy store and asked me to pick any toy. They told me that they wanted to give me a gift as I did a good job of babysitting. I wasn't ready. But an airplane gets my attention. I picked an airplane. It runs with batteries. Then it stopped and the glass of the plane opened to get down a fighter. It was a fighter plane. It made a noise like a fighter plane too. it was about one foot or more than one foot long. On those days it was an expensive one and my parents bought me that happily.

We brought that plane to Bangladesh. It was with me for a long time. Everybody played with it. My sister's son Tamim played with it too. But then I don't know why he broke it into pieces. Everybody laughed, he was just a kid. But actually, he broke my heart into pieces. What can I say to a kid. Later I throw it out.
