Ontario Car Insurance should be improved.

 Car insurance in Ontario needs some improvement. I have seen in Saskatoon, people don't afraid to claim insurance for any damage of their car. But in Ontario, even when it is not their fault the don't want to claim or inform about the damage to the insurance company. Because, most probably the insurance comapny will find some hidden cause for not to give any help. If somehow they help they will take the record as a bad record and will increase the insurance monthly payment. Not only that they will increase the insurance fee for all car owners in that area by saying it is a dangerous area for car drivers.

The insurance suppose to be helpful for the car drivers, that's why it's mandatory. But in Ontario, it is a punishment. It is to increase corporates money, not to help the general drivers. Things should be improved.

All insurance claims should come through a government regulatory system, who will determine whether the person should get insurance help or not. 3rd party, Not the private company. And also insurance amount should be regulated by the same government regulatory board, so that corporate won't be able to charge extra to the general people.

I have born in Bangladesh. I have big rivers and small lakes. For me, Lake means some big water tub on the earth. Though we have a big lake in Kaptai, Chittogram. It's beautiful, big like a river and man-made. When anything is man-made, it must have a sad side of history. Because of this big beautiful lake, some tribe's land, including their king's palace, has gone underwater.

I have seen Lake Ontario on the map. But didn't have any idea how beautiful and big it could be unless I saw it. It looks like a calm ocean. I have seen big ships and boats on the lake. People go fishing, and many birds live beside the lake. I assume the weather in Toronto is the best in Canada only because of the lakes. And it is natural.

Canadian labor laws

 I don't know why Ontario doesn't maintain international labour laws. I don't know either Ontario is too flexible or doesn't have any laws about labour.

Most of the immigrant who comes to Canada stays in Ontario. So, Ontario has a huge amount of immigrant labours. Who are high educated (Mostly) and in need of money to survive. This is the perfect situation to play with labourers' life.

The companies who recruit labours have their own rules of distributing working hours and giving over time. According to the international labour law, if any working works more than 8 hours a day, that person will get overtime pay. Ontario companies don't follow that (As far as I know). They collect the total week's working hours or 2 weeks working hours.

International law is if any worker works more than 40 hours in a week, that person will get overtime pay. I didn't see that happening in Ontario. Some companies count 45 hours in a week, some companies count 95 hours in two weeks, then they consider giving overtime pay.

If any person needs to come early, like 15 minutes early to get ready for the companies work, then this time should be included in payment. I have seen only McDonald's counts each minute after signing in. Not all companies consider extra payment all over Canada.

When people decided to live in a better place, they always consider Canada to live in. So, I believe if Canada improves the worker's life a bit more, more skilled people will consider migrating to Canada and help to make this country grow fast in every single way, like economically, socially, technologically etc.

Saskatchewan vs Ontario 6

 In Saskatchewan, I have seen every water tap has two openers. One is for hot water another one gives chilled one. We had to open both to get the water temperature we want. It's mixed with both tap water to make the one we want. This actually gives little trouble to figure out how to make the perfect temperature water and make more water waste because we mix and test again to change both water flow.

In Ontario, we have one water tap. You can move it around to get the water temperature you want. It is easy to manage and makes less water waste.

In Saskatchewan, the commode flash tank is bigger, which makes more water waste, because you don't need a full tank of water always. In Ontario, they have changed the system. So it flashes less water. If needed you can flash a couple of times. I know, The city of Saskatoon is already thinking to apply that in their city.

In Ontario library has an automated book returning system. I mean you can return your book to a machine. It will immediately check the book and inform you what books it has taken. Saskatoon has an automated book lending system. To return we still just dropped the book in the library. 

Saskatchewan doesn't have any streetcar or tram in the city. No underground or sky train. I will say The city of Saskatoon should start plan about it (If they are not already). Because the city is growing. You will need that in future. Why start planning and make it happen now. The city stays under snow most of the time of the year. I believe an underground train will be a good option when roads became very dangerous.

The security guard course is very high in Saskatchewan. Even the exam fee for a driving license is also very high. When another cost of the city is less than Ontario, then why these fees are too high?

Saskatchewan people are very friendly to the new face or stranger. In Ontario, if you say "Hi" to a stranger, that person will be suspicious and won't answer you.

Saskatchewan people expect a welcome greet from any shopping mall. People get upset if no one welcomes them properly. In Ontario, nobody bothers about it.

The Fall is very colourful in Saskatchewan, mostly the trees become yellow and orange coloured. Ontario has more red in the colour.

Though both provinces are in Canada, both of them have many dissimilarities. 

Saskatchewan VS Ontario 5

 I believe the education system is the backbone of any country. The best investment for the better future of the country is investing in education. Your kids are your future. The more they will be educated, the brighter future you can expect from them. A good education will help to boom their creativity and good energy.

When I was in Saskatchewan, I have seen their government cut off money from kid's education. The school fall in big trouble. To continue their activity they had to ask parents to donate money. They started different activities to earn money for the kids, to continue their extra curriculum activity and staff expenses. I felt terrible. It's easy to take money away from the kid's section, they won't understand and won't create any political trouble.

Saskatchewan government also provide very few amounts of grant for the study. To achieve a degree one had to earn and save money first then they can try to get any degree. Or can ask loan from the bank, which they had to return with interest. This is not encouraging to look for more education.

In Ontario, the education scenario is totally different. Here, anyone can get a degree if they want. They can get grants and loans from the government easily. But again. They had to return only the loan with interest. I wish they could give all the money as a grant. At least remove all interest from the student loan. That would be encouraging for me to get more training and education. I don't take any loans, I don't like it. And I don't want to get involved with any "interest". Because of religious thought.

Saskatchewan VS Ontario 4

 When my son was in Saskatchewan public school, he never needed to wear any school dress. Even on different occasions or theme dress days, they had been told to wear anything from home which is matching with the theme.

Now he is in Ontario public school. The school is very strict with the uniform. We had to buy from the given company. I and my son stand in a line for 2 hours to get inside the store, then found only one shirt of his size. I have ordered 3 more as he needs to wear 4 days a week. All the uniform is very costly. I had to pay $500 for his uniform, which wasn't available, and I ordered them to send me home. Still, I didn't buy his gym uniforms.

Now he has started his class with one dress. After returning home, I had hand washed then try to dry on the balcony. Didn't work. Before sleep it was ironed for a couple of times, still, it was wet. Then I put it on a chair and put the chair in front of the AC. In the morning it was still a little wet in the border areas. I ironed it again and put it in front of a fan. After one and half hours, my son could wear it.

So, today I didn't wash it. I will keep the uniform this way for the next two days. I know, it is stinking but what can I do, I don't have any more uniform, and it is too thick to dry in one day.

I believe the uniforms shouldn't be this much costly. When the quality is normal and you can buy a t-shirt from Walmart at 5 times less price.

Ontario apartments should provide an Air Conditioner

 It's been weeks that we, the residence of Ontario, Canada are facing heat warnings. I really surprise to see that in Ontario, the apartment owners don't provide any AC. Here, Tenants have to buy AC if they feel needed. Also, they have to maintain the rules and regulations, like, how that AC will be, how it will be fitted in the wall and also pay bills for it.

In Saskatchewan, every apartment has an AC in the living area. So, if tenants want they can run it. On hot days they can sleep in that room too.

Ontario government should consider this too. If apartments can't provide central AC, they should provide one AC in the living room. Tenants will pay the electric bills as much as they use it.

During the heatwave, many Ontarians die. and almost all of them don't have any AC at home.

Saskatchewan VS Ontario

 I have landed in Canada at Pearson International Airport. But I didn't go out, I took the next flight to Saskatchewan. My life in Canada started in Saskatchewan. I had lived there for more than 5 years. Then I moved to Ontario.

In Saskatchewan, whoever gets to know that I am moving to Ontario, the way they congratulate me like I'm moving to Canada from any third world country. Some asked they want to move too, so what are the pros and cons.

After moving to Ontario, many people from Ontario asked me how is Ontario. I can assume they want to listen to something good about it. But the truth is a little different. And, I didn't want to break their heart. So, I have answered something diplomatically.

Before moving to Toronto I have heard from the Toronto people that this is a very big city.  But you have to understand in Bangladesh I was born and grow in a megacity. If I compare it in my mind it's not that big. And I was living in the biggest city in Saskatchewan. So, I was expecting more.

In many issues, Toronto has good services. But there are many issues too where I felt Saskatchewan has better service. Saskatchewan has always low budget than these big cities. Still, in many issues, they are managing better. Now, I can't say this to Toronto people on their faces. I'm sure they won't like it.

The weather surprises me the most. After moving from Saskatchewan to Ontario I felt. I came to Bangladesh from Canada. Hot and humid weather. The temperature isn't very low but we felt too cold. And get cold too.

People don't want to maintain traffic rules. The road design needed to do better to avoid collisions. Needed more signs to mention about the road speed, especially before joining different road speed limits.

The online system is needed for personal health and driving info. Saskatchewan has something better. And, this info should be free.

Bus stoppages should be like the Richmond area in Ontario. Most of them are still like Saskatchewan bus stoppages. 

Bus and other public transport costs should be minimized, to encourage people to use public transport. Now if two people want to make a journey, Ubar seems cheaper. Because in most cases you will need to change the bus and pay more. In Saskatchewan, people don't need to pay more if they use transit within 1.5 hours.

I like the way Ontario people enjoyed Victoria day. From 8 pm 12am everywhere people were firing fireworks. I was standing on my balcony and watching fireworks, some are near and some were firing far away. It was amazing. at a time fireworks in ten places. I didn't see this kind of enjoyment in Saskatchewan.

Now, in the pandemic, I don't go out much. I don't meet people or go to any place unnecessarily. So,  I actually didn't see the real Ontario life. I have to wait for more.

Popup Clinic in Ontario

 I went to a popup clinic to get the Covid-19 vaccine. I didn't know that in our area, a popup clinic has been opened. One of my friends lived near the community center where this temporary clinic has been established. They saw this and inform me. 

My question is what if they didn't inform me. I would have stayed home and would never know. This clinic has been set up for this community only. They could send a leaflet to all households and the doors of the apartments to let them know about the clinic. Then we all can have the opportunity to register online or take a ticket at the clinic in person. This way, all the neighbours would know and no one would have left. Unless they decided not to take any vaccine.

And like all the pharmacies, popup clinics also should have a plan to give people date for the second dose of the vaccine.

When I went to the clinic, the tickets have been given already in previous days and I didn't know that. But the management let me take the vaccine as a walk-in person. I must say the management of the clinic was very good. They didn't let people come hours early and stood up in the line for hours. They asked them to go back home and come a few minutes early. People live nearby buildings so they didn't feel any problem with that and the line never went too big. These clinics are very helpful to give vaccines to people in a rapid way.

Inside, everything was very organized. I saw a man who has got a bed, probably he wasn't feeling well after taking the vaccine. I was fine. I have waited for 10 minutes inside after taking the vaccine and then reported that I'm fine and go out.

I have got the Pfizer vaccine. I wanted to give it to my son too. Health Canada approved this vaccine from the age of 12. But the clinic didn't give anyone who is below 18.
