A good schedule

During this Covid-19 pandemic, I am trying to make a good schedule for my son. So that he can follow the bedtime and morning time to wake up, won’t stay in front of a screen for a long-time, will do some study, some household work, some time in the backyard/exercise and of course his playtime.
My son didn’t like it. He wants to stay awake late at night, wants to sleep in the daytime, wants to stay in front of the screen for the rest of the day.
So, obviously, mother-son argument going on every day. He tries to stay away from me as much as possible so that I can’t ask him to do something. When I talk with him, he is trying to make it look like he didn’t get it, but I know, he did understand very well. Finally, he is making requests million times to give him extra facilities (For more playtime, no work).
I told him when I so “no”, why are you keep asking me? He said, “Just taking a chance, maybe after 100 times asking you will say YES”.

Messy

I live with two boys. There is a saying, boys will be boys. This is very true in my life. No matter how hard I try, they always make our house a mess. After cleaning and putting everything in its proper place, if I let them stay at home for 5 minutes, they will totally change the look. Any outsider who visits the house at that moment can never guess these were in condition just 5 minutes ago.

My son looks like his dad, and I am so happy about that. I don’t want to hear from my in-laws that my son doesn’t look good because he has my face.

Anyway, my husband will say he is messy because, from his childhood, he has been like that; it’s his habit. But I have trained my son well. From the very childhood, I always made him put his clothes in the right place. He did, but now, why did he become so messy? For example, I found his socks in every single room of our house which was supposed to be with his shoes. Whenever he returns from outside, I ask him to put his socks into his shoes. He replied, Yes, yes. Then, I don’t know what happened; I found him thinking about something or singing along and walking through the rooms with socks. Then, he doesn’t even know where he kept the socks.

Sometimes, it’s difficult to understand who can mess up the houses more, the other or the son.

This was just an example; these two boys are doing it with everything. I am tired, and I surrender. I can’t make this house better. It will always be a mess.

Writing

Shafeen's art

Today my 9 years old son send me a big text message. Just for fun. I surprise that he wrote a story, kind of, with his feelings and current situation. He got cold now. So, couldn’t go to school and taking rest at home. So, he is missing his school and he wrote about that. I didn’t know that my son can write that well. I asked him to write something for me that I will post in his Facebook page. I want to share his writing. I am sure everybody will like it.

Best compliment

I was preparing my son (6 years old) to go to bed, he suddenly told me, "When we all will die and Allah will judge us, Allah will tell you that you have taken a very good care, feed me well, clean up me well, gave a lot of love. And will keep you on the flower".

I really became speechless. This is the best complement that I ever heard.

I always love people, and never bother whether they return me anything or not. Because when I expect and they don't respond that hurts. I always felt, it’s my duty to take good care of others as much as possible, because, in my heart, I always like to have care. It's not in my hand what other will give me, but my part. So, I am always sincere in my work, no matter whatever I do. In work, at home, as a mother, as sister, as a daughter, as a manager, as a freelance or as a lover I always give effort to make it better as much as possible. I may not able to satisfy all... at least my son truly believes that I did well. Thanks son. Allah may always keep you well.

(Our rain)

I had seen in my childhood (even now) whenever rain comes, people run and go below any shed to save them from rain. I really don’t know why? In the summer (in hot and humid weather) rain should be more comfortable situation than any other. If they don’t found any shed they try to save their head with anything they can manage, book, handkerchief, even own hand. But finally nothing rescues them from heavy fall of rain. But still they keep trying.  I really don’t know why. I like rain. It brings peace in mind. What’s wrong if my dress became wet? It will dry automatically. Or I can change it at home.

I remember, we the four sisters run towards the roof, whenever rain comes. Sometimes I dance on water (on those days I use to dance whenever I felt happy).

My son likes rain too. Whenever rain comes, he asks me to let him to go take bath in rain. I take him to the garden. Sometimes he tries to hold water from baranda’s grill. After school, if rain comes. He asks me to walk in the rain. I hold his hand and start walking in the water. If we take any rickshaw he tells me not to take any shed. We enjoy rain together. While others are busy with rain coat and umbrella.
