Biography 197: I asked for money for my training.

I always avoided any extra cost for my education. My parents used to say they had no money from the 1st date of the month to the last day. However, every day, when my dad gives money for daily transaction costs, he always gives some extra. And I used to save that tiny amount of money and buy my stuff. So, I never ask for extra money to train or go abroad. I knew they didn't have. Now I know they actually have enough for my extracurricular or to have a better career. Because they invested a lot more money in my other siblings. They were better than me in their education.

I have seen this from childhood; not only my parent but everyone doesn't want to help or give me anything. But they give to others, sometimes in front of me. I thought about it a lot. Where it goes wrong. Now, I have accepted it. It's ok, people can only think about me, when they need anything. Now it's their thinking, let them live with their thoughts.

But, anyway, I never like to ask someone to help me financially, physically or mentally. If I ask by mistake, people quickly say no to me, when they are giving it to others. That hurts me more. So, I better not ask.

Let's come to the main point, after completing the Master's exam. I started looking for a job actively. One day. I get an advertisement. That if I pay for the training TK 75000 the organization, they will give me training for 6 months and then appoint me in their office. As they are asking for money, I didn't find any interest in taking any training for them.

Then, I went to the Shamsunnahar Hall to meet with Shumi and Ratna. I told them about the advertisement. It's a considerable amount. Sumi and Ratna also said no to them. At that moment, a senior girl in the room was listening to our conversation. She stated, now you don't want to invest any money. After 5 years, you will change your mind, and then you will be ready to give more money to the organizations to get a job.

Her words make me change my decision. For the first time in my life, I asked money to my parents. At the beginning they said, they don't have any money. I told them to give me a loan. I will repay every single amount of it. Then mom said, OK, get money from your dad, I will give you the rest.

I went to my father. Dad said he could give me TK40,000, and I didn't have to return anything. So, my mom gave me TK30,000. Because I am making all the payments at the same time, they give a discount of TK5000.

I returned my mother's money later.

(All training)

[English version has given below]

I believe no matter in which subject you get training, it will worth for you someday. My father was a government service holder. You can assume how much he earns monthly, so I couldn't ever think to go foreign country to get any training. Whatever available nears my place in cheap I took training on that.

1. When I was in primary school, my mom admitted me in dance course. Actually my elder uncle (maternal) influenced her. I got admitted at Bangladesh Shishu academy (Complete 4 years of dance course). Here I had learned about modern dance of Bangladesh. Like welcome dance, tea dance, snack dance etc. I had admitted at Bulbul Lolito kola academy too (I got training for 4 years). Here I got training on basic of dance, classical dance, Kathak dance etc. At home I have learned about Kathak dance, Monipury dance, Zipsi dance etc from a trainer who is from "Shinghoray" family (Well known for dance).

When my son also started training on dance in his school, my training helped him to understand more at home.

2. After dance my mom admitted me singing course at Bangladesh Shishu Academy and BAFA (At Nazrul song section) and at home with respected teachers (like from the student of Sadmanir). Again it helped to teach my son about songs for his school.

3. My mom asked an Islamic teacher to teach me reciting Holy Quran. Now a day after every prayer I read some part of it with translation.

4. After passing the SSC exam, I went to a nearby woman to learn sewing and cutting. Till I started doing job, I use to sew my own dress.

5. After passing HSC exam, I admitted in type writing course on English at Business Women's Club at Bialy road. You know what; because of this training I can easily type my blog and other works.

6. After passing MSc I had joined in a joint venture company of Bangladesh and India, Corona Skyweb BD LTD. Here I had taken web development training. I have made several web sites as freelance worker and for my office need.

7. In the same company I took software development course with JAVA. Though I didn't make any software after completion of my course, but it helped me to understand other work, timing and budget.

8. I took Professional English Course from British Council, sponsored by "somewhere in...” It helped me to upgrade my language standard.

9. Beside these I admitted at Basic Course of Computer at Dhaka University and Spoken English Course at FM Method. Though I couldn't complete these course due collision of time schedule of office, but it helped to talk with English with foreigners.

All these training went on with my main stream of education.

To learn riding bicycle, you should remove those training wheels first.

When I was a kid, we lived in Saudi Arabia. Just beside our house there was another child who was only 1 year junior than. Her name is Tina and obviously we became very good friend. Her parents once bought her a bicycle. I saw, and felt it's OK. I knew she had many toys which I didn't. But my parents thought I was upset so they buy another bicycle, same as her (didn't find other design). My mom told me, when you learn how to ride a bicycle, we will remove both safety wheels.

But the truth is, if those wheels remains, then no body learn riding a bicycle. So, I didn't know how to ride a bicycle, my elder sister's son Tameem also ride this same cycle and he didn't learn too. But my younger brother learned very quickly, because he removed those safety/training wheels.

My son also is riding the same bicycle. I asked him, should I remove those little wheels? He scared and said, NO.

Later, he learned it from another bicycle, which didn't have any training wheels in Canada.

Sometimes you need to create your own proverbs

Shafeen

There is a saying, (something like this) if you want to help someone give him a fish. If you want him to change his position that he won’t ask help for anything then teach him how to catch a fish.

I like this saying…I tried to train my son how to eat. Because if I feed him, his stomach will be full but later I have to spend time again to feed him. If I could train him how to eat, then he can eat by himself and it will be a big relieve for me. You can see in the picture I gave plastic below him that he won’t mess my bed, then gave him noodles and water. He was only 2 years and 3 months old. Result? Wait a bit…

Now he is 4 and half years old. Still I feed him. I can’t make him feed by himself unless he wants to be, no matter how hard I try. Instead he taught me how to feed him well, by showing cartoon. L
