Bicycle lane

Bicycle Lane, separated from the road.

In Canada, I have seen them always make a bicycle lane on the roadside. Cyclists are not allowed to ride on the sidewalk, no matter how wide it is. I found it very risky. The speed of the cars and bicycles doesn't match. That's why if any kind of collision happens, the cyclist dies in most cases. It's very common over here.

What if a collision happens between pedestrians and cyclists? In most cases, both will survive.

That's why a bicycle lane should be developed beside the sidewalk. There could be a divider or small gap between the two lanes. In this bicycle lane, try cycles, scooters, and some chairs that can run like cars.

Roads should be only for the 4 wheelers. Here are some examples and some beneficial ideas. Like adding solar panels to the bicycle lanes.

In Portugal, the bicycle lane is with the sidewalk.

Biography 69: A minor accident

(Umlez, Saudi Arabia) In our block, we had a park in the middle and then there was our main road of the block, around the park. It was a square-shaped park. We (I and Teena) used to ride our bicycles (With both training wheels) around the park. One day somebody was taking water from the park with a plastic pipe. Just like the garden water pipe. When we were riding, the sun was set, it was about to get dark. No one noticed the pipe. I was riding at a little speed. Suddenly I felt a blockage and felt from the bike. Teena was behind me. She stopped. Because of the concrete road I had gotten some scratches on my both hand. My pyjama and dress saved my whole body.

My mom's clinic was right there. Teena took me immediately over there. I was surprised to see my mom very calm. Generally, at home, she panics with small issues. But at work, she was always calm. She cleaned my both hands and put on some bandages. Only Teena looked very worried for me. She brought me home. I have taken a couple of day's rest. All gone.

To learn riding bicycle, you should remove those training wheels first.

When I was a kid, we lived in Saudi Arabia. Just beside our house there was another child who was only 1 year junior than. Her name is Tina and obviously we became very good friend. Her parents once bought her a bicycle. I saw, and felt it's OK. I knew she had many toys which I didn't. But my parents thought I was upset so they buy another bicycle, same as her (didn't find other design). My mom told me, when you learn how to ride a bicycle, we will remove both safety wheels.

But the truth is, if those wheels remains, then no body learn riding a bicycle. So, I didn't know how to ride a bicycle, my elder sister's son Tameem also ride this same cycle and he didn't learn too. But my younger brother learned very quickly, because he removed those safety/training wheels.

My son also is riding the same bicycle. I asked him, should I remove those little wheels? He scared and said, NO.

Later, he learned it from another bicycle, which didn't have any training wheels in Canada.
