Biography 315: Interviews in my life.

 I shouldn't be scared of any interview. Whatever is meant to happen, it happens. I did very well in those interviews, where I didn't get scared at all because I knew they wouldn't select me. So, I just be myself.

Before the interview, the interviewer may say, "Just be yourself." But actually, they just want to get to know you better. They will judge everything they observe. They will speak to you as if their life is filled with happiness only because you have shown up for the interview. They are your best friend.

Never fall into this trap. They just want you to feel free to share everything about yourself so they can understand your negative side, too, and reject you.

The interview process is almost the same everywhere, and the questions are similar. Only a few new questions will be added by the interviewer.

I have given my first interview after passing grade 10. I didn't want to go alone, so I took my cousin Titu with me. When they called me into the room, I walked inside. I didn't know Titu would come with me too and sit beside me. But I didn't want to say anything in front of the company owner.

The owner was looking for a part-time teacher for his coaching company. He had other organizations, too. However, the salary they offered was very low. I told him it wouldn't cover my rickshaw fare to and from my home. Deep inside, I knew that if someone else got this opportunity, they would have accepted and made the journey by bus.

I have given many interviews in Bangladesh. I didn't have much hope, just kept trying. In Canada, the same things happen. When I tried for an entry-level job, I got it immediately. Things changed when I was looking for a better job. I have been living and working in Canada for 10 years. I should get something better. So now, the application and interview process has started. Here, in most cases, they select their already chosen candidate. They must have a corporate reason for conducting interviews without real intentions.

Maybe someday, some organization will feel like working with me. I am a sincere person. Wherever I work, I work sincerely. Every company did well after my joining. I hope to maintain my good record everywhere.

Travel pictures you will see in everyone's album

Now through social network sites, we can meet and see people from all around the world. And from their profile and pictures we can have idea about their society and culture. And you will see there are some major similarities from the people in the same continent.... Like...

In Chinese world, you will see people adds more pictures then any written status. Most of them are about their group fun, new iPod or new technologies which they bought recently.

In western world you will see people giving family time spending picture, new house, new car etc.

The pictures from south Asia are family get together, food, kids etc.

But there is one common picture you will see all around the world, that is pictures of traveling. People from all around the world like to visit beautiful places.

For good we have to stay together

No matter, how much we avoid each other, we are living in the same world and sharing everyday each other’s space. Here nothing is only for our good or for others; everything has impact on all, directly or indirectly.

No good work can be continued by only one person. They will need others help to continue their work and spread it. We know all the rocks on this galaxy or beyond that are very far from us. It took several years that for one astrologist can’t see the complete path. So, one may help to start one voyagers and next generation or may took more generations to see the actual picture of a new rock.

You alone can’t do all or all good work. You have to adjust with others for the bigger good. This is our world, we have to live here and have to make it better for our future generation. Let’s help each other to make it better. No matter how much we hate each other, we have to work together. A good work is much more worth than any personal clash.

We should aware to save our world

“Pollution”, we heard this word many times. Sometimes we care; sometimes we felt this is just a word. Reality is, it’s a slow coming great disaster, if we don’t became aware of it. We always felt, what will happen if I through just a plastic chips pack into the water. You have no idea how it can block water flow, what may happen when any water creature eat it, even how birds can get affected and in the long run how poor effect it can bring. It won’t take much effort or time to put that plastic packet into the dustbin.

What will happen if we don’t care to save our natural resources? We may not get much affected but our future generation will. Do you want your kid to fall in terrible environmental crisis? Of course not, then try to be little careful while using water, gas, electricity, oil etc.

Preventing is always better than cure.

"ভাংতে সহজ, গড়তে কঠিন" (It’s easy to break, difficult to build)

বাংলায় একটা কথা আছে, "ভাংতে সহজ, গড়তে কঠিন"। 

অনেক সহজ আর বড় সত্য। যে কোন কিছুই গড়তে কত সময় লাগে, কত পরিশ্রম করতে হয়, কত ব্যয় করতে হয়, আর ভাংতে লাগে মাত্র কয়েক সেকেন্ড। যে গড়েনি, সে হয়তো এর মুল্য সঠিক ভাবে বুঝবে না, যদিনা একটু ভেবে দেখে।

সম্পর্কের কথাই ধরুন, কত ভাবে না আমরা এর পরিচর্যা করি। অথচ, একদিনের একটি মাত্র কথাই যথেস্ট একে সম্পুর্নভাবে মিটিয়ে দিতে।

বিশ্বাস অর্জন কত কঠিন। কত সময় নিয়ে, কত কাজের মাধ্যমে ধীরে ধীরে বিশ্বস্ততা গড়ে উঠে। আর সামান্য কারনে এক মুহূর্তে তা নষ্ট  হয়ে যায়।

কোন কাঠামো, কোন যন্ত্র, কোন আসবা পত্র গড়তে, কিনতে, পরিচর্যা করতে কত সময় কত পরিশ্রম আর কত মেধার প্রয়োজন। অথচ এক হাতুরির বাড়িই যথেস্ট একে ভেংগে ফেলতে।

কোনো কিছু ভেংগে ফেলার মধ্যে গর্বের কিছু নেই। গড়ে দেখুন, শরীর আর মনের কি রকম প্রশান্তি পান। নিজের তো বটেই সেই সাথে আসে পাশের মানুষের জন্য, দেশের জন্য, সাড়া বিশ্বের জন্য আপনি কিছু করলেন, কারো না কারো কোন উপকারে আসল। শুধু আপনার জন্য হলেও তা সবার জন্য উপকারি। কারন আপনি এই বিশ্বেরই অংশ।

আপনার খারাপ কাজের প্রভাব যেমন খারাপ তেমন ভাল কাজের প্রভাব খুব ভাল। কোন ভাল কাজই ফেল না নয়। কবি নজরুলের ভাষায়, "ভেঙে আবার গড়তে জানে, সে চির সুন্দর"।

There is a saying in Bangla, “It’s easy to break, difficult to build”. It’s a very simple and important message to all. No matter what it is, you can see how much effort it needed to build, how much time, how much money to invest and to break it, you need only few second. The person who didn’t build anything may not get this point, if they don’t think about it for a moment.

For example, we can say about relationship. You know, how much we give effort to maintain it. But only one word can destroy everything.

To achieve trust is very difficult thing. It takes time, many efforts to build. But a simple thing can destroy it totally.

Any infrastructure, any machine, any furniture needs lots of hard work, money, maintaining to have it. And a hard hit of hammer can destroy in a moment.

Nobody can feel proud by destroying anything. Try to build something and see how it feels in your mind and body. It will be very helpful not only for you, but for your country, your world (earth). If it’s only for you, then also it will be for the world, because you are part of this world.

The effect of your bad work is bad, in the same way the effect of good work is very good. No matter how small your work is, it will give some effect to this world. No work is useless.

At the end, we can say with the poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, “Bhenge aabar gorte jane, shei chiro shundor (who can build after destroy is the most beautiful person)”
