Why would you choose Alberta to travel?

I'm introducing you to the travel experience in Alberta. I won't provide a travel guide, such as how to get there, where to stay, or detailed information. Instead, I'll show you why you should choose to visit Alberta.

Alberta is a western province of Canada. It is bordered by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the U.S. state of Montana to the south. Alberta's capital is Edmonton.

We all know how young travellers are spending money all over the world on exotic travel spots. Now, I must inform you that Alberta also has many exotic places and festivals to attend. Let me give you some examples. We have so many travel destinations to visit. Like:

Banff: historic bathhouse in Banff National Park

Banff Upper Hot Springs are located in the town of Banff, in Alberta’s Banff National Park.

Jasper: train tour

And you can join the thrilling adventure, like:

Scuba Diving
Climbing Mountain

You should have good indoor excitement.

Jasper planetarium

Dinosaur museum

Everybody loves to have good accommodation and food, especially travellers.

Rocky Mountain Escape
Calgary chocolate is very famous

You can bring your kid to travel here, too. They take the eight-minute ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain Park.

Not only for travel places, you can visit Alberta for its festivals too.

Winter sports events

Canadian Finals Rodeo

Drumheller is in the heart of the Canadian Badlands in Southern Alberta. About 75 million years ago, this place was plain and the climate was tropical. And this was a home of dinosaurs. People find out about it when they are mining coal. When visiting this place, be sure to visit the museums and the coal mine, and also spend your time hiking.

Visit this place to see the dinosaur fossils in the Royal Tyrrell Museum.

In the city, you can also see the world’s biggest dinosaur, 86 feet high.

This place is also known for its coal mine. Here you can visit the mine and go under the earth.

Moreover, if you can spend your time hiking in the Badlands, it's a well-maintained trail in Horseshoe Canyon where you can see growing Hoodoos.

I hope I have encouraged you enough to travel to Alberta ;)

Traveling

I enjoy travelling. Most of the time, I travel with others—such as friends, relatives, colleagues, or groups, etc. Sometimes I make a travel plan and then carry it out with them; other times, they plan and invite me to join, and I go. Very rarely have I travelled alone.

I prefer to travel without stress. I enjoy when someone else handles all the planning and tells me what my role is, so I can focus on that. When travelling with someone, I always respect their choices, like where to go, what to eat, and how long to stay. Sometimes I share my wishes; if they're listened to, great—if not, I take it easy. I don't expect everyone to enjoy travelling the same way I do.

When no one invites me to join any tours, I create my own. It might be nearby or farther away—somewhere new and interesting. I mean physically, and if it’s affordable, then it’s a possible trip for me.

Biography 280: Travel after the class.

My college was in Downtown Toronto. There are so many places that can be visited there. I thought that after my class, when it finishes a little early, I would visit one place. This way, I will be able to visit many places during my Diploma. I have visited two beautiful places after my class. One is the first post office in Toronto. Another one is the Museum of Illusion. Both are very recommended to everyone.

You don't need a ticket to visit the post office. It has a museum inside with ancient post office equipment. You will love to write letters with feathers and ink.

However, you will need to pay a fee to visit the Museum of Illusion. It is around $50 or less. You can take your kids to both places.

Then, the college started putting pressure on our studies and assignments. I became very tired. So, after class, I had to go back home to study. My travel stopped after class.

Travel plan

When any person or from a group of people offers me to join them on a tour, I agree and join them in most cases. Things are getting changed now. Recently, I have asked other people to let me join them whenever they plan to travel where I can fit in or request people to join my travel plan. In most cases, they denied or didn't show any interest.

I may have to travel alone. That could be the new reality. Being alone isn't bad, but feeling lonely is a bad thing. I am working on it. I am becoming used to being alone.

Biography 178: Riding on the bus in Halua Ghat

We had a unique bus experience from Halua Ghat to Maymensingh. The road didn't have the concert cover; it was just on the soil. Bangladesh is a tropical country, so we had enough rain all year. You can imagine if a big bus ran on soil on a rainy day what could have happened with that road. It was going up and down like a small hill. Though, that didn't reduce the speed of the bus.

We were sitting inside the bus, surrounded by dust (The bus running on the soil), with no way to see anything through the window. The bus was jumping up and falling down for a few km. We jumped up with the bus, then the bus went down, so we fell on the seat. It's not an amusement park, the seat was hard, and there were no seat belts. When we fell on the seat, a noise came out from our mouths like Ah, for the pain and fear.

I sat in the middle of the bus and felt what I had described. Now you can imagine what could have happened who were at the end of the bus. Some of the boys in our class were there. Among them, I could hear Mamun's (Polash), Tajul, and Deepu's voices. One of the girls from the front row said, do you want to exchange seats with us? They felt bad for those boys. Mamun replied, No, it's OK. Then he said to the other boys if girls be seated here, they will become lentil soup (he said this in Bangla, Dail). Other boys laughed out in laughter.

It didn't sound good, but it was confirmed at that moment.

Let's learn to travel alone

I like to see places. I like travelling. Because of this hobby, I could never save money for other significant purposes. Like buying a house, a good car, better dresses, more furniture etc.

I like travelling so much that I never thought who is going with me, do they want me with them or not, do they like me? Etc. Anyone invited me to go anywhere where I had never been before, I used to say yes and join them.

I have changed a bit now. My patient level may be completed now. So, I have started measuring some issues. Like, do I know this group of people? Do they like me with them? Did I ask them to go with me before, and they said no 2/3 times? So, this time, I better make my own plan and not disturb them.

Maybe I don't know much about the place, will miss some items, or will be paying too much, etc. But I better learn to travel by myself. I better not wait for anyone to take me with them.

Biography: 127 Sylhet

My dad and I were in a Tea garden

My father sometimes brought magazines home. Like "Bichitra" and others too. In those days I was in school. Maybe in grade 9 or 10.

In a magazine (I don't remember the name of the magazine) somebody posted a travel guideline to Sylhet. I have never been to Sylhet and it's not safe for a young girl to travel to another district.

So, I have started manipulating my father to go to travel Sylhet with me. He didn't agree. He said the cold is too much (It was in January or February) over there. Robers may rob us because we don't know anything about that place, etc.

My brother was very young, maybe he was studying in Kindergarten. He suddenly joined me and asked father, let's go 3 of us.

My dad loved his only son very much, now he started thinking maybe we can go. Some of his colleagues were from Sylhet. They had guided my father, on how should we go, and to which hotel we should go (Shahban). Later I found, that the hotel management could have been a little better.

We enjoyed hotel food, it was great, we have visited 2 Peer's Dargah, Jaflong, Tea garden and Madhob kundo fall. It was amazing.

In the hotel, we had rented a 2-bed room. I had taken one bed, another one was shared by our dad and brother. My brother had a bid body on those days. They really felt trouble sharing one bed. I heard my brother was saying to my dad, maybe we shouldn't bring her (Me) with us.

What! It is I who had taken initiative to travel and I had to hear these!

My father and brother had taken two heavy jackets. Because they believed it will be very cold. I knew what was going to happen. So, I warned them from the very beginning, never ask me to carry your jacket.

I was right, in the end, they had to just carry those in their hand. And none of them were happy to do that. Several times they looked at me to have some mercy. Sorry, when I said, don't take this they didn't listen, now I cant help those guys.

Biography 117: Tea break on the way

In Saudi Arabia, people have to travel in between desert areas to go from one city to another. Sometimes they feel exhausted. So, they park the car beside the highway, put a rug or mat on the sand and sit in the car's shadow and drink tea and snacks. If any other car is passing and they want to join, they can join with whatever they have with. Sometimes it has been seen 3/4 unknown families get together this way and enjoy a good time and then went to their own way.

This really can make people feel well without much effort.

Group travel vs traveling alone

I believe everything has a positive side. For example, you may like to see new places on this Earth. So, you travel. And you know very well that because of your travel partner, your travel experience may differ.
You may travel with different groups. Then you will find, travel experience with each group is different.
When you travel any place with a group, even in an unattractive place, you will find it funny only because you are with a bunch of people. If you are traveling alone, then the place must have something to make you happy.
Again, if you are traveling in a group, you must adjust with everything with the group. In some cases, for a very small reason you my get hurt or someone may get hurt because of you. If you are traveling alone, you don’t have to worry about anything. But sometimes you may feel lonely.
Any group work means you must face more trouble and will have more fun. Alone work means less trouble, less fun.
Now choice is yours. It depends on how much you can adjust with others to have fun 😉

Travel pictures you will see in everyone's album

Now through social network sites, we can meet and see people from all around the world. And from their profile and pictures we can have idea about their society and culture. And you will see there are some major similarities from the people in the same continent.... Like...

But there is one common picture you will see all around the world, that is pictures of traveling. People from all around the world like to visit beautiful places.

But still, I wish...

Whenever I see or hear that anyone has gone anywhere, in my heart I say, I wish we could go with them too. When they return, in my mind I say again, did you bring anything for us.

Well, when I go out I can't take everyone (who might be interested to go) with us and I also couldn't bring gift for everyone.

But still, I wish...

Unrest travel may cause tiredness

I and Shafeen at the ship on Bay of Bengal

We like traveling. It gives us pleasure not for that moment only but also for the rest of the life. Again, traveling should be comfortable and with rest. Unrest travel may give tiredness, then you can’t enjoy totally.

We made a tour to Saint Marin’s island for 12 hours. It was very nice. But at the end while returning home we became very tired. My suggestion is, if you make plan to travel to Saint Martin’s Island then plan to stay over there for one night at least. Then you will travel with full energy and fun.

Need a travel guide to Bangladesh

Peacock at Dhaka zoo, photo credit: Tameem

In our country there are many beautiful places. To some places we can go very easily and to some we had to make some adventure. Some place we have in our own area (walking distance), some need days to visit. Though it is a small country but we have many varieties in landscape and beauty.

I wish have a web site, from where we can easily find a place to visit searching by budget, area etc. From where we will know what are the place available to visit (with picture and description), hotel facilities (with contact info), how to go there (every possibilities), what are the things we can do over there, special food of that place etc.

Then any visitor can plan to go there from anywhere of our country and from anywhere of the world. We should also have the list of travel guide available in our country. Which company offer what, should mention there too, with their contact info.

We can easily get sponsor from hotels, rental car, travel agencies, spot owners, resorts etc. There should also have option to add more places or add more info about any place. Admin may check and then add it on their site.

It can be something like travel guide to Bangladesh. It will be helpful for not only Bangladeshis but also foreign visitor.

We can also have info about special events which occurs regularly (yearly, monthly etc). Like Pohela boishakh, Jobbor er boli khela, Nouka baich, international trade fair, other fairs etc. So that if anyone wants to see any even can plan how to go there and enjoy.

And for every success in our country we need political stability… Allah may help us.

Travel bag guide for moms

Shafeen (my son) at Fakhruddin restaurant

In Bangladesh, we moms always things, we should not take our kid outside, they may become sick, they might have sleeping problem, they won’t eat properly, they will disturb. But actually they will stay better with you, will feel great in outing, and as a mother, no matter how much you try, you can’t get rid of tension for your kid, so why not take them with you. Let’s all have good moment together.

If you think, you will take big luggage and will take everything in it then you have to change your mind a bit. For your kid you can carry a medium sized handbag (instead of small money bag). For the road you have to carry a pair of dress for your kid (if possible take 2 sets), some dry food (if your kid takes fider then take small different boxes of milk powder, sugar, hot water flask with bottle), diaper (if needed), water, plenty of tissues in side pocket. On road try to feed whatever you take as lunch or dinner or breakfast. It will be helpful for your kid to taste different and they will also like the journey and for you it will reduce feeding problem to your kid.

For travel lover, who doesn't have money to go wherever they want to go

Milonchhori bamboo cottage, Bandarban, Bangladesh

If you like traveling, you will like to visit new places whenever you have time (and money). There are 3 kinds of place you may choose according to your timing (and money). For very short time you may like to go to a place inside your city or just across the city. If you have 2/3 days then you might plan for a place inside country. If you have 4 or more than that, you may thing to go abroad.

So make a list on hard paper or on PC or cell phone. The new places you want to go, keep the authorized contact no, keep info about the closing days (like Sunday or some other day), timing (if there any opening time or closing), per day cost (if need to stay). This will help you to make plan when suddenly you found some time that you can take your bags and go away….

When money (not only the time) is your big problem, because you have a lot in your list to have for your life, then you can start saving money to fulfill your one wish list. Then a place to go, again get another thing from your wish list. This way you will get whatever you need, also can plan to go anywhere. You really need to go places for sometimes, to live, to breathe.

Wherever you go, you can make a small group for it. It will be better if you choose similar minded (match economically or where all have kids or all student or all from office or all from family or best friends) people in one group. It will give you more fun in your journey and also may help to reduce total cost.

Planning is everything

Shafeen packing himself

When I had to pack my bag, first I make a plan, what I might need according to where I am going and for how long…. Then start thinking what are the things that I have to buy, prepare etc, and what are the things that I have to take just before I leave.  That’s it… finally it took very little time to complete my packing.

Otherwise if I start packing without planning and thinking, what I took what else should I take that actually takes much more time than planning. And finally when I reach the place, there are some important things left that I should brought.
