গুনবান বাবার ছেলেও কি খুব গুনবান হন? (Does a talented father's son also become talented?)

গুনবান বাবার ছেলেও কি খুব গুনবান হন? এমন সব সময় হয়না। দেখা যায় একটু গুন হয়তো পায় ঠিকই, কিন্তু বাবার বা মার মতোন সেই অসাধারণ মেধার কিছু ছেলেমেয়ের মধ্যে আসে না। একটা উদাহরণ দিছি, আমার নানা প্রচন্ড পরিশ্রমি ছিলেন। বাইসাইকেল চালিয়ে ফরিদপুর থেকে ঢাকা চলে আসতেন। অথচ আমার মেজমামা শুধু আলসেমির কারনে তার ব্যবসা চালাতে পারলেনা।

তবে একটা জিনিস আমি দেখেছি, শুধু গুন থাকলে হয়না। সেটা পরবর্তি জেনারেশনের কাছে দেয়ার মতোন ক্ষমতাও থাকা লাগে। নানার সামনে কেউ কোন কাজ করতে পারতনা। নানা ক্ষেপে যেতেন সবার আনাড়ি কাজ দেখে, তারপর নিজেই করতেন।

আমি নিজে ছোট থাকতে দেখেছি। আমার খালাত বোন পাট নিয়ে দড়ি বানাচ্ছিল। নানা ঘরের জানালা দিয়ে কিছুক্ষন দেখে এক ঝাড়ি মারলেন "ওমবাই করতে হয় নাকি, এই দিকে নিয়ে আয়"। আশা আপা দড়িদড়া নানাকে দিয়ে দিল। নানা নিজেই বুড়ো বয়সে দড়ি পাকাতে লাগলেন। আশা আপা কিছুক্ষণ দেখে, কোথায় যেন চলে গেলেন।

Does a talented father's son also become talented? Well it doesn't happen always. Sometimes children inherit some quality but not like their parent. Let me give you an example. My grandfather (Maternal) was very strong and good skilled person. He was a very hard working person. He used to make journey from Faridpur to Dhaka by riding his own bicycle. But his second son couldn't succeed in business only because of less attentive in work.

But one thing I have noticed, having talent isn't everything, you have to have quality to pass it to your next generation. Let me give you an example. 

We all knew nobody could work in front of my grandpa. He used to become very angry with others less skilled work, so he did it again by himself.

Even I have seen this. When I was a kid I have seen my cousin (maternal) was trying to make a rope with jute. My grandpa saw this for some second then screamed, "Is this the right way to make a rope, bring it to me!" My cousin sister Asha brought everything to my grandpa. The old man started making the rope by himself. My cousin stood there for some minutes then go away. Learning process ended.
