আরেকজনকে সাহায্য করার সময় যা ভাবি (What we think when we help others)

আমরা আরেকজনকে কোনো সাহায্য করার সময় ভাবি... কাজটা কি ঠিক করছি? এতে কি আমার কোনো ক্ষতি হবে? সে আমার জন্য কি করেছে যে আমি তাকে সাহায্য করতে যাব? তাকে সাহায্য করলে আমার কি উপকার হবে? শুধু শুধু সময় নস্ট করছিনা তো? সে আমার যতটুকু উপকার করেছে, আমি তাকে ঠিক ততটুকুই সাহায্য করবো, এর বেশি কেন করতে যাবো?

এবার চলুন একটু অন্য ভাবে চিন্তা করি, আমি প্রতিদিন কত মানুষের সাহায্য নেই? রিক্সাওয়ালা রিক্সাচালানোর জন্য পয়সা নিয়েছে, তারপরও বাড়ির সামনে পানি দেখে আরেকটু ভিতরে টেনে কোনভাবে তুলে আপনার ছেলেকে পানি থেকে বাঁচিয়ে ঘরে তুলে দিল, কোন বিনিময় ছাড়াই। স্কুলের দারোয়ান শুধু দরজা পাহাড়া না দিয়ে আপনার ছেলে যখন গাছে উঠেছে, ওকে ধরে নামিয়ে দিয়েছে। আপনার বস আপনার ভুল না ধরে নিজেই অনেক কিছু সংশোধন করে নিয়েছেন। আপনি হঠাত রাস্তায় পরে গিয়েছেন, কোনো বিনিময়ের আশা না করেই কেউ সব তুলে আবার আপনার হাতে তুলে দিয়েছেন। আপনি কম্পিউটারে যে সব ফ্রি সফটওয়ার ব্যবহার করছেন, সেটা কেউ তৈরী করেছে, আপনি কাপড় মেলে কোথাও গিয়েছেন এরই মধ্যে বৃষ্টি এসেছে আর কেউ সে কাপড় তুলে রেখেছে, দুরে কোথাও গিয়েছেন আরে পাশের বাড়ির মানুষ নিজের বারান্দা থেকে পানি ছুড়ে আপনার গাছে পানি দিয়ে দিয়েছে... এমনি প্রতিদিন আরো কত কি...

সবাইকে প্রতিদান দেয়াও সম্ভব না। তাই আপনি যখনই  পারবেন, সাধ্যমতো অন্যকে সাহায্য করুন। এটা আপনার এবং অন্যের সবার জন্য ভাল। ভালো কাজের প্রভাব পরোক্ষভাবে সবাই পায়। মনে রাখবেন, কেউ গাছ লাগিয়েছিল বলেই রাস্তায় আপনি ছায়া পান। 

Before we help other, we started thinking... are we doing the right thing? Will it create problem for me? Did is person helped me that I will help him? Whatever this person did for me, will return only that much, nothing more. Why should I help more?

Now let's think about it, in other way, everyday from how many people we take help? Do we or can we return always? Rickshaw puller took money from you to pull the rickshaw, but he saw your son having trouble to get down from his rickshaw he helped him. They school guard's job is to keep an eye on the main gate. But when your son climbed up on the tree, he gets him down. Your boss sometimes corrects your work without any complain. You may fall on the road and passerby helped to collect your things and hand over to you. The free software you are using in your computer is developed by others. When the rain came, someone took your clothes from outside to prevent it to get it wet. When you go outside for couple of days, your neighbor throws water from their balcony to your plants to keep those alive. There are many more...

You can't return peoples favor always. So, whenever you get chance help others. It’s good for both you and others. Every good work has direct and indirect influence to the society. Always remember, someone planted a tree that's why you are getting shades on the sunny road....
