From the left side, I, Ranta, Shumi, Pratul, Reza and Urmi. They were playing ludu (Board game), and Urmi was changing the film in the camera. We didn't have a digital camera. The bottle had water.
During our 2nd year educational trip to Halua Ghat, we stayed in Mymensingh. Our friends in the management team booked 2 hotels for us to stay. Because they couldn't find rooms for everyone in the same hotel. The hotels were standing side by side beside the road. We could literally talk from one hotel's balcony to another.
All girls stayed in the Nirala Hotel. We liked our 2 beds room very much. Especially since they had a cute little closet. Sohel took a lot of pictures inside his room. Even he had given pose inside that closet too. On every floor where girls were staying, one room was for boys, just in case of emergency. The rest of the boys stayed at the other hotel. Later Pratul showed his disagreement about this hotel distribution. He said their hotel room is 5 takas cheaper. He disagrees with this discrimination.
I, Shumi, Ranta and Sharmin (Dancer) stayed in the same room. When we were free, sometimes we kept our room door open a little so that if anyone in our class wanted, they could come and have time with us. Whenever I did that, many friends came to our room and enjoyed time by playing games (Ludu) or just hanging out and talking. Finally, I had to keep the door closed so we could rest after all our tour work. But we enjoyed time with everyone.
There was a lovely view from the rooftop of the hotel. We could see the city with a beautiful mosque and temple.
We used to eat food together in the dining room. One night, the power was gone during our dinner time. The restaurant management put candles on each table. So, we had candle light dinner. All memories are amazing now.
Don't say 50/50. There is no way to make it 50/50.
Women started bleeding every month from around 12 for your kids. They had to deal with the blood and pain. Recently researchers found that 90% of women bear pain similar to a heart attack. This has been seen recently, but women have tolerated this for ages. There is no option to rest at work or home.
You have no contribution to it.
When she conceived a baby, then for 9 months, she had to adjust to hormonal changes, pains, and several kinds of problems and pain. In most cases, she has to work outside and at home.
You have no way to contribute to this process.
Giving birth is another immense pain and trouble. She felt like 57 bones break at a time, bleeding, and other problems. She has to go through this alone. Then nursing the baby and adjusting to post-birth hormonal changes, pains, and problems. Finally, raising the kids... that is countless work and jobs.
Again, you have nothing to do with it.
She already doing her job 100% alone.
So, be a man. Allah made you strong to take care of and protect women. Make an environment for her to do her job as comfortably as possible. Do all the other jobs properly so she can give full attention to her job 100%. Don't put her on more stress and drama that hampers her own job and also make her tired but still has to complete other tasks which you can easily do. Because you are not occupied like her and you are strong.
I wanted to remind you that age should never be a limiting factor in pursuing your goals. It's common to feel like it's too late to start something new, but that's simply not true. In fact, there are many inspiring stories of people who achieved great success later in life. For example, the founder of KFC started his business at age 65 and now there are KFC restaurants all over the world.
People like Jennifer Lopez and Malaika Arora are also great examples of how age doesn't have to define us. They continue to amaze us with their talent and beauty, regardless of their age.
Did you know that some people in their 80s still climb mountains? It's never too late to learn, grow, and achieve. Some people even start new careers or pursue education after their children have grown and moved out.
There are also countless examples of people who have overcome physical limitations and accomplished incredible things. From wheelchair-bound athletes to individuals who have completed impressive feats of engineering without any formal training, it's clear that determination and willpower can overcome any obstacle.
Remember, age is just a number. You should never give up on your dreams or assume that it's too late to make a change. Keep trying and you never know what you might achieve.
In this picture, our professor sat with us and listened to the song.
The second-year study tour from our department (Geography & Environment, The University of Dhaka) was to Halua Ghat (Maymansing, Bangladesh).
Like all my travelling experiences, this was mixed with happy and little unhappy moments.
Our travelling started by train. We get on the train from the Kamalapur Railway Station. It was a 3rd class train compartment full of joy from a group of students from the University of Dhaka. I don't know how somebody's found a song like an anthem of our tour. They repeatedly keep singing that song. The main singer was our friend Emran. It was a local Bangla song. If I translate, it will be like, "Get married at 18 districts". I didn't like it, but the boys were full of fun with this song; they were singing in chorus.
During our train journey, one of our friends, Bony, became ill. She got cold. One of our professors travelling with us came from the second-class compartment to see her and give her medicine. You know coll pills have something that brings sleepiness. So, then Bony fell into a deep sleep. Some boys make fun of that too. One of them was Shameem. He put papers inside her mouth (It was open) and tried to fire it up. I wanted to stop him. You may call me boring, but I don't want any harmful activity.
When our professor came, Emraan and his gang again sang that song (Married Girls in 18 Districts). I don't know how our professor felt because he didn't say anything; he just kept smiling. Now I am smiling too by remembering those moments.
Some people think, physical & verbal fighting is part of the game. Some believe these are arts to perform to defuse the against team bypassing the game law.
I disagree. I don't like fighting. The game should be full of skills and strengths, and sometimes luck too. But not fighting, cheating or acting. Yes, to make people earn more money when some players act to lose or anything else. In Cricket it might be called Betting.
One day I was watching Japan and Canada football (Soccer) match. I was surprised to see both teams are not hitting each other, they were playing hard to win! The game was so nice to see. This is called a game, not a fighting ring or money gambling machine.
Japanese audiences are well known for cleaning up the gallery after the game and Canadians are well known for their nice behavior. No doubt their football games are the cleanest and most well-behaved.
It's important to be cautious about showing your teeth, as it may lead to unintended consequences. It's common to feel angry about various things, but avoiding overreacting is important. In many cases, a more measured response can prevent unnecessary conflict.
It's generally not helpful to reveal your angry or aggressive side unless it's necessary to stop someone from doing something harmful or to alert them to potential danger. Otherwise, displaying this side of yourself may create more problems than it solves, potentially alienating people who could have been supportive and making enemies of those who may have been neutral.
By keeping your emotions in check, you can avoid losing people who might have been valuable allies and instead cultivate a support network that helps you feel more positive and empowered.
In Bangladesh, we had 3 seating arrangements on our trains. 1st class, 2nd class and 3rd class. You will get small cabins for 4 to 6 people in the first class. There you will get AC, beds to sit in and sleep in, a small table, and a window. No hockers (people who sell items to the travellers) will come. You can order food from the train's food compartment/canteen, which they will bring to your cabin.
I didn't like this situation. It's true it will give you some private time. But I like to be offered tea, snacks, and items every few seconds by the hockers! I don't want to go somewhere to order from the limited food items. That's the choice of a foodie person.
Second-class seating arrangements mean you will have chairs/sofa the same and organized like a plane, except for the food and magazine trays.
The 3rd class sitting arrangments are long sofa, no partition from in 3 person's seat. This will be the best solution if you plan to book a whole compartment for a group tour. And of course, every second, someone will come and try to sell something like tea, toothbrush, medicine, etc.
I like to see places. I like travelling. Because of this hobby, I could never save money for other significant purposes. Like buying a house, a good car, better dresses, more furniture etc.
I like travelling so much that I never thought who is going with me, do they want me with them or not, do they like me? Etc. Anyone invited me to go anywhere where I had never been before, I used to say yes and join them.
I have changed a bit now. My patient level may be completed now. So, I have started measuring some issues. Like, do I know this group of people? Do they like me with them? Did I ask them to go with me before, and they said no 2/3 times? So, this time, I better make my own plan and not disturb them.
Maybe I don't know much about the place, will miss some items, or will be paying too much, etc. But I better learn to travel by myself. I better not wait for anyone to take me with them.
"People can be so quiet about their pain that you forget they are hurting. That is why it is so important to always be kind."
If you observe, you will find most of the people you know are in pain, but they never let others know that. Others can see only their happy faces. So, just be kind to people. One simple smile or a nice word can make others' day.
You never know who is going through what situation. We just used to take others' help or support. We never thought that they needed something from us too. Let's be nice to everyone. Whether we felt they deserve it or not.
Shahnaz Madam took many more initiatives to make our department better. One was a plantation. Our friend, Arif, with others, played a significant role in making it happen. We all contributed to it.
First, we donated 1 or 2 takas (0.013 Canadian Dollars) and bought plants, plant pots etc. We coloured it and dry in the sun and put the plants in those pots. Finally, put them around the balcony.
Students from some other departments came to our department to see our work. They all said our department (Geography & Environment) became the most beautiful department in the University of Dhaka.
By default, I always put others before me. I have been trying to change this attitude. Didn't succeed 100%. My son told me I was speaking too much to him. He needs a break.
I understand. It may be time for me to focus on myself more than others. Let's get involved with myself more. Let's irritate myself and let others be happy.
I am tired of helping others. When they didn't ask for it.
Though I just can't see my son doing harm to himself. So, occasionally, ask what he should do now, like a reminder. Not pushing to do anything. Not explaining or sharing my thought or anything as I usually used to do.
I hope he started getting his own time without me, more.
This song is represented in the movie funnily. Though it's not a funny song. A beautiful romantic song with beautiful lyrics.

I went to Victoria Supermarket and enjoyed coffee and baklava. They said they would provide free snacks (toast, coffee, baklava, Sharma) to all visitors on the weekend. The shopkeeper requested us to wait. He will make some Chicken Sharma for us. But I preferred to leave after shopping. I like free food, but I want to do it immediately.
I like this South Asian grocery because it has enough space to walk through the aisles and has various items. I don't know no, what happened now after changing the ownership.
Generally, scholar people don't care and don't give time to their looks. So, they look just like ordinary people or rougher. Most university professors are looked like that, except for our Professor Shahnaz. We used to call her Shahnaz madam.
She is a very beautiful, smart, intelligent and scholarly lady. Her dress up, talking style, and walking in our department were elegant.
Boys liked her style. In those days, most girls in the class were unaware of their beautification. One day, our friend Saleh told some girls (I don't remember precisely to whom), maybe Kanon, why don't you girls dress up and put on makeup like Shahnaz madam.
It's actually everyone's personality. Like I could never make time to do something about my beauty. I don't know how to take care of or put on make-up. It's a difficult job and needs lots of energy to maintain.
When I was in Bangladesh, migraine was regular for me. I had to take strong painkillers, sleep in a dark room, and wait 10 to 12 hours to have it in control. If I was late to take painkillers, the pain became unbearable, I started throwing out, and my face and eyes reddened.
After coming to Canada, it happened one or two times only. The second time, when I had migraine pain, it was severe, so I went to the hospital. Canadian hospitals don't like to give any medicine. Though they gave me painkillers to bring me back to normal situation. Then discharged me. I said, why don't you give me some treatment so I don't need to come to the hospital next time. They said you have to control your mind and solve it. I was surprised; how? They said you must figure out how to reduce stress and mental pain. Then there won't be any headaches.
Allah knows how much stress gave me their words. However, I am in a better position now. I don't have a migraine now. I don't let it become significant. Whatever is meant to happen will happen. Whether I react or not. So, why do I give myself pain? I just trying to live with whatever I get. It doesn't mean I have no hope of achieving something. I try, and if it happens, very good. If not, then let's focus on what we can have next.
If you are an organization's owner or manager, take a closer look at your organization. Who is actually running your company? Who's input actually gives long-time success and keeps you living in peace. You will see they are honest, dedicated people. You can bring an intelligent, fast person, they might show you some upgradation, but in the long run, you can't depend on them. You know, they are smart, they can take your company from you or may lick information to other company and move over there. They work smartly but need to be more delicacy. You need to run your company steadily. You can't rely on them.
Even in your personal life. You need good people; don't just let them go if you find any. They are hard to find.
I have chosen to study in the program Geography & Environment because of their yearly field trip. Due to different circumstances, I heard they couldn't take our students sometimes. But I was lucky. We went out every year for study tours, and I did well in field study assignments.
Our first-year tour was a day tour to Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI). This organization made a significant change in the rice growing in Bangladesh. They developed the rice to stay strong during rough seasons and produce more in a small area. Their invention helped the Bangladeshi to grow enough rice to feed the country.
Our professor Shahnaz took the responsibility of taking us on the tour. A group of students took responsibility for renting buses and buying lunches. They collected money from the students for their lunch program.
The amount is a little more for some students. The group rented good buses. The food was delicious and good, but the amount needed to be more for some people for lunch. People can't live on burgers; some need rice, roti, or something like that. I liked the food.
I liked the organization; it's a lovely building. When I tried to see through the microscope, I didn't see anything significant, but others said they saw something. Anyway, I was happy with that.
We had to take notes for our next assignment, so I concentrated on everything that had been told to us. But overall, I enjoyed the journey. Something new to me.
I like the lyrics too, woman always waits, by thinking like this...
Somewhere Out There, I Know There Is Someone Who is Waiting Just For Me Mahiya
He Is Gonna Set Me Free Mahiya
Jiski Aankhon Mein Meri Hi Nami Ho In whose eyes, there is wetness due to me Koyi Toh Hai Woh Yaar Mahiya There has to be someone like him Karoon Main Intzaar Mahiya I am waiting for him, that lover of mine Jisake Jine Mein Meri Hi Kami Ho The one in whose life, I am the missing thing Rahe Jo Bekaraar Mahiya The one who stays restless for me Woh Mujhpe Nisaar Mahiya The one who is sacrificed on me Jisaki Har Baat Mujhse Judi Ho Whose every talk is connected with mine Chaahe Jo Beshumaar Mahiya The one whose love is incalculable Wafa Se Wafaadaar Mahiya The one who is more faithful than faith
How Long Must I Keep Framing A Fantasy? Why Can't You Be A Part Of My Reality?
Usako Li Zindagi Ke Khwaab Main Bunoo Taking him, I weave the dreams of life Chamkile Rang Saare Unamein Bunoo I shall weave them with sparkling colors Usako Aksar Khayaalo Mein Socha I think of him many times in my thougths Kahin Toh Hai Woh Yaar Mahiya He is somewhere, that partner of mine Woh Mera Dildaar Mahiya That lover of mine
Somewhere Out There, I Know There Is Someone Who is Waiting Just For Me Mahiya He Is Gonna Set Me Free Mahiya
I Know That He Is Gonna Be My Destiny Its All The Part Of Cupid's Conspiracy
Kabse Usake Aane Ki Main Raah Takoon I am looking out for him on the road since long Kabse Chhupa Ke Ise Dil Mein Rakhoon For how long should I hide this feeling inside my heart Mere Dil Ne Taraasha Use Jaisa The way in which my heart has selected him Milega Wahi Yaar Mahiya I will find such a lover of mine Hai Mujhe Aitbaar Mahiya I have complete faith in this
Somewhere Out There, I Know There Is Someone Who is Waiting Just For Me Mahiya He Is Gonna Set Me Free Mahiya
[It's totally my opinion, from my experience (including observation, news and personal experience)]
In Bangladesh, there is a trend of thought process; Men (Teen to old) can do anything to a woman except kill. Killing is for home (I will talk about that later).
From coming out of the home, on the way to her destination and till she enters her destination, men are allowed to do anything. It's the girl's fault; why did she come out. Men and most women believe that this came from the religion. Though our messenger (May Allah give peace upon him) always took his wife to the war, other women also helped the soldiers like a doctor; they worked on business and everything during his time. Men were not allowed to disturb them anyway and were responsible for caring for them.
Let's return to Bangladesh; at the end of the day, men will say, you want the rights 50% (They believe and act like women shouldn't have any rights), then do everything like us. No, they didn't mean to work like them that women do better. They pointed to tolerate and be with them. Or showing strength like them. Obviously, not on them. On work, so that the small part of work they are doing, they don't have to do that either, but the respect they are getting from women should always be there. Otherwise, they will show their strength to the women in every possible way. If not physically, then verbally. Like, that woman is bad (in Bangla, Nosta), so now every man has the right to do anything to that woman. That is not bad for a man. Because they are men. Men will be men.
Let's give you a small example of the situation. If you ask any woman who rides on a bus, every woman will say someone touched her on the bus. Though most men are Muslim, they think if women want to take a bus, they have to tolerate this men's entertainment.
If you go outside Bangladesh to any other country, it is very rear that a man touches a woman on the bus. Whether they are Muslim or from any other religion or do not believe anything. Women can go out to work like a human.
